Many people are wrongfully imprisoned in this country. A significant number are senior citizens who have been in prison for decades and are routinely denied parole and compassionate release although they pose no threat to the public.  Louisiana's own Kenneth "Zulu" Whitmore and H Rap Brown (aka Iman Jamil Al-Amin) are examples. See more stories here:

River. It's the only section of Orleans Parish district located on the West Bank of the Mississippi River. Algiers is known as the 15th Ward.  It's one of the oldest Wards of the 17 Wards in New Orleans. Following chattel slavery along the Mississippi River. It became the birthplace of  Jazz in the early 1900s.
